Our Approach -
We take a family-centered approach to speech therapy. We believe that parents and caregivers play a crucial role in their child’s progress, which is why we involve them in the therapy process.
Together, we can help your child develop the communication skills they need to thrive.
Speech therapy is an intervention service designed to enhance a child’s speech and language abilities, including both verbal and nonverbal communication. It focuses on improving speech clarity, understanding (receptive language), and expressing thoughts and ideas effectively (expressive language). These services are provided by speech-language pathologists (SLPs), specialists trained in assessing and treating communication disorders.
Pediatric Speech and Language Evaluation and Therapy
(Homes / Schools):
At Speech on the Spectrum Inc., we provide pediatric speech-language services virtually and in-person, at homes and/or schools for children with a speech delay and/or language delay / disorder. Licensed to practice Speech Therapy in Trinidad & Tobago & Florida, USA
Our speech & language therapy services for children address the following areas:

Unclear pronunciation (e.g., saying "wabbit" instead of "rabbit" or having a Lisp) or Oral motor disorders: involving the lips, tongue, teeth, and jaw to identify and address oral motor weaknesses.

Fluency challenges such as stuttering/stammering. Repeating whole words or parts of words, or pausing awkwardly between words.

Receptive - language difficulties: Difficulty understanding spoken or written language. - Expressive language difficulties: Difficulty sharing thoughts, ideas, and feelings orally or in writing.

Pragmatic (social) Aspects of Communication (e.g., how we use language) Teaching the conversational skills needed to make friends, take turns, and interact with peers.

Literacy Oriented Intervention (to improve reading and writing abilities through Phonological Awareness strengthening)

Swallowing and Feeding difficulties using the SOS© Approach to Feeding Assisting children who have trouble chewing, swallowing, or experiencing picky eating habits.

Parent Coaching using The Hanen Program® for Parents Small group programs, led by your Hanen Certified Professional, for parents and educators of young children.
We conduct thorough evaluations to design effective therapy programs tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Adult Online Fluency Therapy for Stuttering/Stammering & VOICE Therapy
(30 min. Sessions)
We offer online speech therapy for adults who need support with fluency disorders such as stuttering.
To schedule an online fluency therapy session, simply visit the "Book Online" section of our website.
Hearing and Language Screenings:
We offer this service in Daycares. Service areas are limited. There is a fee Associated with each child screened. A simple Screening help us rule out underlying disorders that may impact language comprehension/expression.

Before beginning any therapy, a comprehensive evaluation is completed to determine the patient’s therapeutic support. Each evaluation includes the testing session, complete report (upon request), and a recommended plan of care moving forward.
