My Approach -
I take a family-centered approach to speech therapy because I believe parents and caregivers are essential partners in a child's communication journey. By actively involving families throughout the therapy process, I can provide strategies, support, and guidance that help children continue building skills beyond our sessions.
Together, we can create meaningful opportunities for communication growth and help your child develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive.
Speech therapy is an intervention service that supports the development of speech, language, and communication skills. It addresses both verbal and nonverbal communication, helping children improve speech clarity, understand language more effectively (receptive language), and express their thoughts, ideas, and needs with greater confidence (expressive language). As a licensed speech-language pathologist, I specialize in evaluating and treating communication disorders and creating individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique strengths and goals.
Pediatric Speech and Language Evaluation and Therapy
(Homes / Schools):
At Speech on the Spectrum Inc., I provide pediatric speech-language services virtually and in-person, at homes and/or schools for children with a speech delay and/or language delay / disorder. Licensed to practice Speech Therapy in Trinidad & Tobago & Florida, USA
Our speech & language therapy services for children address the following areas:

Unclear pronunciation (e.g., saying "wabbit" instead of "rabbit" or having a Lisp) or Oral motor disorders: involving the lips, tongue, teeth, and jaw to identify and address oral motor weaknesses.

Fluency challenges such as stuttering/stammering. Repeating whole words or parts of words, or pausing awkwardly between words.

Receptive - language difficulties: Difficulty understanding spoken or written language. - Expressive language difficulties: Difficulty sharing thoughts, ideas, and feelings orally or in writing.

Pragmatic (social) Aspects of Communication (e.g., how we use language) Teaching the conversational skills needed to make friends, take turns, and interact with peers.

Gestalt Language Processors (GLP) Expanding echolalia and Gestalt mitigation to attempt production of self-generated Language Skills

Literacy Oriented Intervention (to improve reading and writing abilities through Phonological Awareness strengthening)

Swallowing and Feeding difficulties using the SOS© Approach to Feeding Assisting children who have trouble chewing, swallowing, or experiencing picky eating habits.

Parent Coaching using The Hanen Program® for Parents Small group programs, led by your Hanen Certified Professional, for parents and educators of young children.
I conduct thorough evaluations to design effective therapy programs tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Adult Online Fluency Therapy for Stuttering/Stammering & VOICE Therapy
(30 min. Sessions)
I offer online speech therapy for adults who need support with fluency disorders such as stuttering/stammering as well as voice disorders.
To schedule an online fluency or voice therapy session, simply visit the "Book Online" section of this website.
Hearing and Language Screenings:
I offer this service in Daycares or Schools. Service areas are limited. There is a fee Associated with each child screened. A simple Screening help us rule out underlying disorders that may impact language comprehension/expression.

Before beginning any therapy, a comprehensive evaluation is completed to determine the patient’s therapeutic support. Each evaluation includes the testing session, complete report (upon request), and a recommended plan of care moving forward.
